As a person and family centered-therapist and a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist in Napanee, Ontario, I understand that your circumstances are uniquely yours, and your therapy should reflect this. I am a Certified Emotion Focused Family Therapist, a Certified Trauma Therapist and I specialize in working with Eating Disorders and Living with Chronic Illness as well.

With nearly 15 years experience in the mental health field, I have worked in a variety of environments including hospital, community and private practice and across a variety of sectors including child welfare, youth justice, community health and medicine. I am passionate about providing supervision services to Social Workers and Registered Psychotherapists across Ontario. I own First Light Therapy and Co-Own Napanee Psychotherapy (www.napaneepsychotherapy.com), a counselling and psychotherapy collective in Napanee, Ontario that is dedicated to providing accessible, holistic and innovative mental health care in-person and virtually across Ontario.

I am a Psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker in Napanee, governed by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have worked in both community and hospital-based settings and I specialize in working with eating disorders, trauma, family and relationship issues and emotion processing. I also work with individuals around anxiety, addictions, grief, self harm and general coping.

On a personal note, a few of my favourite things include spending time with my family, my morning coffee, playing hockey in the winter and golfing in the summer, reading and the cooler weather. If I wasn’t a therapist, I would have loved teaching.

Although therapy is not easy, with a supportive environment, you can work through the challenges that come with this journey. I strongly believe that awareness is power and I strive to create a safe and comfortable space that will lend itself kindly to creating self-awareness while making sense and learning to transform the emotional drivers to our thoughts and behaviours.
